I always say I'm going to use it more, and I never do. I loves me some empty promises. In my own defense, I actually am pretty busy these days. I've been in Japan since mid-March, but I have a real job now. I have to work 8 hours a day, which is a pretty huge change from my occasional 5 hour shifts at Wegmans.

Teaching is an interesting experience. Being an assistant language teacher in Japanese schools usually amounts to being a human tape-recorder for the Japanese teacher, but those jobs are usually in junior high schools. I teach in 2 different elementary schools, 1st through 6th grade, and most of my classes are left entirely up to me to plan and carry out. It was really stressful at first, but I'm finally getting used to it. I have absolutely no training in the education field, and the only time I've ever been around kids was when I was one. My students are almost all really adorable, though, I think I like them a lot more than I would if they were junior high students.

On the plus(?) side, no one at either of my schools speaks English, so my Japanese has already gotten so much better just out of necessity. Since that was my goal to begin with, mission accomplished, I'd say. 8D

I've taken some pictures, but most of them aren't good enough for DA. My camera isn't that great, and they're always really overexposed or something.

I'll see if I can get some better pictures to upload here sometime soon, or maybe I'll actually draw something sometime. Not likely, but who knows. In any case, I have my public blog thing here, though I've sort of been neglecting that, too. [link]
